Mobile massage FAQ
...and all the things you feel awkward about asking

  • I’ve never had a massage at home before. How does it work?
Mobile massage therapy means that I come to you and massage you in a quiet room in your house. I’ll bring my massage table, oil and linen. For new clients, I’ll ask you to complete a medical history form while I get set up, if you haven’t done it online when you book. We’ll have a chat about what you’d like to work on, any injuries or issues you have and discuss what will happen in your treatment. I’ll then leave the room so you can undress, make yourself comfortable on the table and cover yourself with provided linen.
  • Do I need to do/provide anything?
No, you don’t need to provide anything apart from the space for me to set up my table. I can work anywhere, however if you have little ones, I strongly recommend organising another adult to keep them entertained while you are having your treatment. I am child friendly, but remember, this time is YOURS! Take it and enjoy it! The room can be anything you want it to be. You can set it up like a day spa with some music, candles and essential oils or just in your lounge room – it’s up to you!
  • Do I need to be completely naked?
Only if you want to be! As I offer an oil-based massage, I’ll need you to undress to a degree depending on what area I’m working on. For most people, down to undies is enough. I’ll leave the room so you can make yourself comfortable on the table in private where you can cover yourself with the linen provided. After that, you will be fully covered except for the area I’m massaging.
  • Do I need to talk?
No! Although I’m happy to chat if you want to. I’ll usually chat for the first five minutes to check that you’re comfortable and the pressure is as you like it, then I’ll take my cues from you. You might like to play some music if you don’t want to talk and feel uncomfortable with silence. If you’re having a remedial massage, I’ll check in with you from time to time to gauge pressure and comfort. I am here for you, so feel free to be however you are most comfortable. I have no expectation for you to chat or do anything.
  • I don’t feel well. Can I still have my massage?
Please reschedule your massage if you’re feeling unwell so that any illness is not spread. This is especially important with Covid-19. If you are experiencing any symptoms at all, please cancel and we can reschedule after you have been tested and have the all clear – this keeps us all healthy! Please also contact me ASAP if you test Covid-19 positive, or find out you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive in the two weeks after your treatment so I can take all necessary precautions.
  • I don’t like the pressure. It’s hurting/not hard enough/too soft.
That’s ok, just let me know. I won’t be offended – in fact I can’t encourage this enough! Your massage is for you and I want to give you the best experience possible. I’m pretty intuitive, but if it’s the first time I’ve seen you I don’t know your body yet so don’t be shy to speak up. There’s nothing worse than lying there in discomfort feeling like you can’t tell me what you need.
  • Do you only work with women or can I book my husband/partner/son in as well?
Yes, I only work with women, so please don’t book a double appointment to include your husband/partner/son.
  • I’m receiving treatment for cancer (or another serious medical condition being overseen by a doctor). Can I still have a massage?
Oncology massage is often recommended for cancer patients but it’s absolutely essential that you check with your treating physician as to whether massage is appropriate for you before booking. I do not specialise in Oncology Massage and would recommend seeing someone who does. If you would still like to book in with me, I’ll need written confirmation from your physician giving you the ok to receive massage before I treat you.
  • Can I get a health care rebate?
Yes, I am registered with all major health care providers so you will be able to make a claim, providing remedial massage is covered in your policy. Most health care providers will only rebate for remedial massage.
  • Can I get a gift voucher?
Yes, you can! Contact me to arrange.
  • What’s your cancellation policy?
Should you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please allow 24 hours notice so that I have a chance to fill your spot. A cancellation fee to the value of your appointment will be charged for cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice.
  • What suburbs do you service?
I offer massage to residents in: Belmont Highton Ceres Grovedale Waurn Ponds Marshall Newtown South Geelong Geelong West East Geelong Please check the map before booking online. If you are outside the radius shown, you will need to contact me directly to make your booking so that I can allow extra travel time, and my rate will be slightly higher to cover this.
  • I’m thinking of organising a surprise massage for my partner/friend. Can I do this?
Please don’t! It’s a MUCH better idea to purchase a gift card. Contact me here to arrange one
  • Do you do pregnancy massage?
I don't, only because the special cushions that allow you to lie safely and comfortably on your belly are just too bulky for me to carry along with a massage table and linen.

I acknowledge and give thanks to the Wadawurrung people, the Traditional Owners of the land I live and work on. I pay respect to their elders past, present, and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today. This land always was, and always will be Aboriginal land.
